We started Clipmerce because great product videos were only accessible to brands with big budgets and in-house teams. We\'re changing that — one AI-generated video at a time.

How we got here

In 2022, Alex was helping a friend launch a skincare brand on Shopify. The product was genuinely good, but static product photos just weren\'t converting on Instagram or TikTok. Hiring a video agency cost $3,000 per shoot. DIY tools took hours and still looked amateur.

Jamie had been building video generation infrastructure at Google. The two connected at a YC alumni event and realised the same AI advances powering enterprise marketing platforms could be packaged into a tool any seller could use in minutes.

We launched the beta in early 2024 with 50 Shopify merchants. Within 90 days, those merchants had published over 2,000 videos and reported an average 34% lift in click-through rate on social ads. We knew we were onto something.

Today, Clipmerce powers video marketing for thousands of brands across Shopify, WooCommerce, and custom storefronts — from solo founders to 8-figure DTC companies.
