Clipmerce, Inc. ("Clipmerce", "we", "our", "us") operates the Clipmerce platform accessible at clipmerce.ai. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.
By using Clipmerce, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account registration data (name, email address, password hash)
- Billing information (processed and stored by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)
- Product images and videos you upload for processing
- Brand settings, captions, and publishing preferences
- Support communications
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps)
- Device information (operating system, screen resolution)
- Usage metrics (feature interactions, video generation counts, publish events)
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 6)
2.3 Information from third parties
- OAuth tokens from social platforms you connect (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest)
- Analytics data returned by connected platforms via their APIs
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Clipmerce platform
- To process AI video generation requests using your uploaded assets
- To publish content to connected social channels on your behalf
- To send transactional emails (account verification, billing receipts, usage alerts)
- To respond to support requests
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your uploaded product assets to train our AI models without explicit opt-in consent.
4. Data Retention
Account data is retained for the duration of your subscription plus 90 days after account deletion, to allow for recovery. Uploaded media files are retained until you delete them or your account is closed. Anonymized usage analytics may be retained indefinitely.
5. Data Sharing
We share your data only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: Cloudflare R2 (storage), RunwayML (video generation), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Vercel (hosting). Each is contractually bound to process your data only as instructed.
- Social platforms: When you publish content, the relevant platform API receives your video and caption. Their privacy policies apply to that data.
- Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation, court order, or to protect the rights of Clipmerce or its users.
- Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred. We will notify affected users in advance.
6. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication sessions and CSRF protection. We use analytics cookies (anonymized) to understand feature usage. You can disable analytics cookies via our cookie banner without affecting core functionality.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection — object to certain processing activities
- Restriction — request we limit how we use your data

8. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest for sensitive fields, bcrypt password hashing, and regular third-party security audits. No system is completely secure — if you discover a vulnerability, please disclose it responsibly to support@clipmerce.ai.
9. Children's Privacy
Clipmerce is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a child under 16 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email and an in-app banner at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of Clipmerce after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
